Buying MATIC on the Polygon Network
For an overview of buying or selling cryptocurrency on MEW wallet app, see the following:
Step 1. Open the MEW wallet app and change your network to 'Polygon' by clicking the network dropdown in the top left corner.
Step 2. Click on the ‘Swap’ tab found at the bottom of the screen then click on 'Buy Matic'. If you have more than one account in MEW wallet, select where you want the Matic to be deposited.
Step 3. Choose the currency that you’ll be purchasing with and the amount you want to spend, or select Custom to enter amount manually.
Step 4. Choose which provider you want to use to buy your MATIC. You’ll then be redirected to the provider's website to finish your purchase. Please note that KYC may be required by the provider, but MEW does not collect or store any personal user data.
Bridging assets between Ethereum and Polygon
If you want use Ethereum assets on Polygon, or Polygon assets on Ethereum, you will need to bridge them first.
Bridging requires gas, so please make sure that you have enough ETH or MATIC to cover it. You will need ETH when bridging from Ethereum to Polygon, and MATIC when bridging from Polygon to Ethereum. The gas is paid in the currency of the network that you are bridging from.
Step 1. After accessing the wallet, click on the 'Swap' tab on the bottom of the app.
Step 2. Tap on 'Bridge assets'. You will be taken to the Orbiter Bridge DApp in MEW wallet's integrated browser.
Note that Orbiter is a third-party application and is not affiliated with MEW. You can also use any other bridge in MEW wallet's integrated browser. Bridging inherently involves risk, and MEW is not responsible for any issues encountered when using third-party applications.
Step 3. Select the token you are bridging on top, the network you want to bridge from, the amount, the network you are bridging to on the bottom, and tap Send. Note that there may be a minimum amount required for bridging.
Step 4. After the assets are bridged, you can view them in the wallet by switching the network to the appropriate chain.
Swapping on the Polygon Network
Step 1. Open the MEW wallet app and change your network to 'Polygon' by clicking the network dropdown in the top left corner.
Step 2. Click the ‘Swap’ tab at the bottom of the app interface and then click ‘Swap tokens’.
Step 3. When you get to the Swap window, choose the token that you are swapping on top, and tap on ‘Select token’ to find the token that you want to swap for.
Keep in mind that not all tokens will be available for swap on MEW wallet. If you don't see the token you want to swap, it might only be available to swap on an exchange that supports it.
Step 4. Enter amount that you would like to swap and click ‘Preview swap' to see best offer, other offers, and estimated swap fees.
Step 5. If everything looks good, click 'Proceed with swap'.
Step 6. Once you initiate and confirm the swap, you can tap on 'View progress' to see the transaction status in a block explorer.
Interacting with DApps on the Polygon network

Step 2. Click on the 'Browser' tab at the bottom right of the app.
Step 3. You can search for DApps by name or URL, like you would in a regular browser. If you have more than one account in MEW wallet, the DApp will ask which account you want to interact with.
