Interacting with DApps on MEW Mobile Android

Steps, resources and best practices for interacting with DApps on the Android app.

Exploring DApps on your Android

Interacting with DApps is seamless and available directly on the MEW Mobile Android app, with the additional option of connecting to external web DApps that support WalletConnect.

Don't have a wallet? Don't LOVE your wallet? Creating a new wallet with MEW is easy.

Use DApps via the in-app browser

Step 1. Go to the Browse tab.

Step 2. You should now be seeing the featured DApps page.

Step 3. If you’re looking for a specific DApp, try searching it in the search bar. Otherwise, feel free to try out some of the DApps shown in the ‘Featured’ section. Recently browsed DApps will appear in ‘Recent’, and users can also mark DApps as favorites so they’ll show up in the ‘Favorites’ section.

The in-app browser allows you to visit any website, much like a desktop browser. When you use the MEW Mobile browser, you are visiting third-party websites. They are not affiliated with MEW. Being able to visit a site in the MEW browser does not mean that MEW knows about or endorses that site.

Step 4. MEW wallet will connect to most DApps automatically. If not, select MetaMask, Trust, or Browser/web3 wallet to connect.

Earn on MEW Mobile Android

MEW wallet has integrated certain DApps for staking and yield earning right into the app. Go to the Earn tab to explore. For more information on these DApps, see the following:

Connecting to DApps on MEW Portfolio

To interact with dapps on the older version of MEW Portfolio (such as staking, ENS Manager and ETHblocks), go directly to this old version link and connect wallet there. More dapps are coming to the new MEW Portfolio dashboard soon, stay tuned to our socials and newsletter.

For users who want to interact with the DApps on MEW Portfolio or interact with contracts directly you have the ability to connect your MEW Mobile app to MEW Portfolio via WalletConnect.

To Connect:

  1. Visit our website at https://www.myetherwallet.com/wallet/access to access the legacy version of MEW Portfolio.

  2. Select ‘MEW wallet app’ for a WalletConnect QR code

  3. Open your MEW Mobile app and click on the QR code icon found in the upper right-hand corner.

  4. When it opens, point it to the QR code. MEW Mobile will scan the QR code which should automatically connect you to our website.

  5. Click on the Apps option on the left-hand side of your MEW Dashboard to access the DApps page.

Connecting to External Web DApps

MEW also allows users to connect to external web DApps that support WalletConnect.

To Connect your wallet:

  1. Find the ‘connect wallet’ button on the DApp your using and locate the ‘WalletConnect' option

  2. Open the QR code scanner on your MEW Mobile app

    1. See Steps 3 and 4 above

  3. When it opens, point it to the QR code provided by the DApp’s website. The QR code should scan which automatically connects your wallet to the site.

    1. If you’re having trouble scanning the QR code, make sure that both devices have network data and/or Wifi.
