MyEtherWallet (MEW) makes it easy for you to send a transaction. All you need is a wallet, the Ethereum address you’d like to send funds to, and a little ETH for gas.

All transactions require ETH for gas. If you need ETH, please see the 'Buy and Sell Crypto with MEW Portfolio' article for assistance with the purchase.

Don't have a wallet? Don't LOVE your wallet? Creating a new wallet with MEW is easy.

To send a transaction on MEW Portfolio:

  1. Visit our website at myetherwallet.com and click 'Access my wallet'

  2. Pick your access method then complete the process for access

    1. For assistance with accessing your wallet, refer to the 'How to Access your wallet on MEW Portfolio' article

  3. When you get to your MEW dashboard, select ‘Send' which is located on the left side of the screen.

  4. Find the type of currency you’d like to send in the drop-down menu, and enter the amount and the address you’d like to send it to.

    1. Make sure to double and triple-check the address you’re sending to! We cannot recover funds sent to the wrong address.

    2. When sending your entire balance of ETH, choose the ‘MAX’ option, so your gas is auto-calculated out of the total.

    3. If you don’t see the token you’d like to send, you may need to double-check that the token is on this wallet address. If so, you may just need to add the token as a Custom token on MEW.

  5. Choose your transaction speed from the options provided

    1. For more information about Gas and transaction fees, go ahead and check out the 'What is Gas' article.

  6. The Advanced can be used to manually edit the Gas limit and Add data. Please don’t edit these fields unless you are an expert user & know what you’re doing. Entering the wrong information could result in your transaction failing or getting stuck.

  7. Once you're done, click Next to confirm the transaction details

    1. If you’re using the MEW wallet app or a hardware wallet, be sure to confirm the transaction on your device as well.

  8. Congrats! Your transaction has been posted! Copy your transaction hash, for your records. You can also check your transaction hash on ethVM to make sure everything went through properly.
