MEW supports NFTs!

What are NFTs, you ask?

NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) are tokens that represent a singular, unique digital asset. No two NFTs are the same, even though they can represent similar things.

The term 'non-fungible' means that NFTs are unlike regular fiat and cryptocurrencies. US dollars are 'fungible' because one dollar bill can be exchanged for another dollar bill and have the exact same purchase power in the same places. NFTs are more like trading cards – each has unique parameters and unique value.

Examples of NFTs include all kinds of collectibles, tickets, access to exclusive events and content, gaming items and attributes, pieces of ownership in property and art, proofs of identity, proofs of ownership of real-life items, and much more.

Since they’re built on the blockchain, their code and proof of ownership are immutable. You have full control over your NFTs, and no one can take that away from you.

NFTs are supported on all MEW products! To use the NFT manager for each product, refer to the desired sections below:

Don't have a wallet? Don't LOVE your wallet? Creating a new wallet with MEW is easy.

MEW wallet

Users can conveniently store, collect, and manage their NFTs directly in the app (available on both Android and iOS).

To access your NFTs,

  1. Open and unlock the MEW wallet app

    1. If you need to import your existing wallet, check out the 'Restore/ Import your wallet on MEW wallet using Recovery phrase'

    2. For new users, refer to the following links for help creating a MEW wallet account based on your operating system.

  2. Click on your account card and then select 'NFTs'.

  3. Pick the desired NFT to see the details and interact with it.

For a complete overview of managing NFTs on MEW wallet, refer to the 'NFTs on MEW wallet' article.

Enkrypt

NFTs are accessible on the Enkrypt extension wallet, but they will need to be sent and managed on the appropriate NFT marketplace like Rarible or Open Sea, for example.

To view your NFTs on Enkrypt:

  1. Open Enkrypt and enter your password to unlock it

    1. For help getting started with Enkrypt, please see the 'Enkrypt: The User Guide'.

  2. Select the network that you want to connect to then click on 'NFTs'.

    1. Please keep in mind that NFTs are currently only supported on Ethereum and Polygon. To view NFTs on a different blockchain, you may need to connect to a separate web DApp that supports that blockchain.

  3. Here, you'll be able to view the NFTs, add them to your favorites, or hide them so that they won't be displayed on the main screen.

Check out the 'Enkrypt: Connecting to networks and DApps' article for the complete guide.

MEW web

Users can fully manage and interact with their NFTs on multiple networks using MEW web. To do this:

Step 2. Select the NFT Manager on your Wallet Dashboard.

Step 3. Choose which NFT you’d like to interact with.

  • If you’re trying to send your NFT to someone else, make sure you have enough ETH for gas!
