Steps for connecting your MEW wallet app to MEW web.

Introduction

Do you want to connect your MEW wallet app to our website? We provide a seamless connection between the two by use of the QR code.

While MEW wallet comes equipped with plenty of features, users like connecting to MEW web in order to take advantage of the additional perks it offers. Some examples would be the integrated DApps, the additional networks options (ETC, BSC, Polygon, etc), and a large, inviting interface.

Connecting to MEW web

If you're trying to access your MEW wallet account on MEW web, you'll need to connect by scanning the QR code on MEW web with the camera on the MEW wallet app. To do this, you just need to:

  1. Visit our website at www.myetherwallet.com

  2. Click on 'Access my Wallet'

  3. Click on MEW wallet and the QR code should then appear

  4. Open the MEW wallet app and make sure you’re logged in

  5. Click on the camera icon found on the upper right-hand corner of your device

  6. Point the camera to the QR code shown on MEW web and allow a few seconds to establish the connection

  7. Select the account card of the address you’re trying to interact with on MEW web

You’re done! You should now be looking at your MEW Dashboard.

If you're having trouble using your mobile camera to scan the QR code, try these steps:

  1. Make sure that your MEW wallet app is updated to its most recent version, and that the camera on your smartphone is clean.

  2. Check your phone permissions to confirm that the app is allowed to access the camera.

  3. Make sure that both devices are connected to wifi and/or have network data (for mobile).

Connect to MEW web from the MEW wallet app browser

You can also connect to MEW web with your MEW wallet through the MEW wallet built-in browser, as you would connect to any other DApp.

  1. Open the MEW wallet browser by going to the Browser tab.

  2. Navigate to www.myetherwallet.com by entering the site name in the search bar.

  3. Go to 'Access my wallet', and then select 'Browser Extension' (not MEW wallet app). This is because in the mobile browser environment, the MEW wallet app browser acts as a browser extension.

  4. The connection should happen automatically, taking you to the MEW web dashboard. If you have more than one MEW wallet account, switch between accounts by tapping on the account card dropdown in the upper left.
