Adding an Account
Enkrypt allows users to generate additional addresses all deriving from the same recovery phrase. These added accounts can be fully managed on Enkrypt (buy, swap, send, etc).
Please note: Adding an account is different from importing an account. When importing an account, you’re bringing in an outside account via Keystore file or Private key, which creates a separate account that is not derived from the recovery phrase you got when you created an Enkrypt wallet or used to restore a wallet.

To add an account:
Click to expand the drop down menu next to your account name and address.
Select ‘Add account’.
Nickname your account then click on ‘Add account’.
After the account has been added, click the drop-down menu next to your account name again and find the name of the account you just created.
Select the account to be taken to its corresponding Assets page.
Perfect! Now you can interchange between accounts effortlessly to interact with them when you need to.
Importing an Account
Enkrypt users that want to import additional accounts into their wallet can do so using Private keys or Keystore files. These imported accounts are fully operational and have full use of what our extension provides!
Before importing an account via keystore file or private key, you will need to create a new Enkrypt wallet first. This is because the recovery phrase generated by Enkrypt gives access to the many networks supported in the wallet, and enables the generation of multiple accounts on all of those networks. A keystore file or private key imported directly (without generating a new wallet first) would only support one address and a limited set of networks, and will not allow for the full functionality of Enkrypt.
Please note: Importing an account is different from adding an account. Enkrypt wallets are created using a recovery phrase, so each account added derives from that same phrase. However, imported accounts have separate keys from your Enkrypt wallet. Therefore, if a user was to reset their Enkrypt wallet for whatever reason, those accounts would need to be imported again.
To Import an account:
Click to expand the drop down menu next to your account name and address and select 'Import account from another wallet'.
Pick the import method that you’ll be using and complete the import process. (Keystore file or Private key).
Keystore file: This import method requires a password so make sure that you have that handy for a seamless process. After locating your UTC file from your computer and entering the password, click on ‘Import Account’.
Private key: Please refrain from manually entering your private key to avoid any errors. After entering your private key, double check it’s correct then select ‘Import account’.
Create a nickname for the new account you’re importing then enter your Enkrypt password to confirm the changes.
Perfect! You just imported an external account into Enkrypt! To interact with that account, click on the dropdown menu next to your account’s name again and select the name of your newly added account.
Add a Hardware wallet Account
Enkrypt allows our users to add their Ledger and Trezor hardware wallets directly to the platform giving them full access to all that Enkrypt offers.
Please keep in mind that these accounts have separate recovery phrases from your Enkrypt wallet. Therefore, if a user was to reset their Enkrypt wallet from whatever reason, those accounts would need to be imported again.
To add a Hardware wallet:
Unlock your Enkrypt wallet (if needed) then click to expand the drop down menu next to your account name and address.
Select ‘Add hardware wallet account’.
Select the hardware wallet that you’ll be adding (options are Ledger or Trezor hardware wallets at the moment).
Connect you hardware wallet to the computer by following the devices connection steps then click on ‘Connect’ (Ledger shown in the example below).
Follow the prompts to connect your device then pick the derivation path (Ethereum is default) and account that you want to connect.
Feel free to select more than one
Choose a nickname for each account added then 'Add accounts'
Nice! Your hardware wallet has been added! To interact with it, exit the tab to get back to Enkrypt then click on the drop-down menu next to the account name again. You should then see all of the newly added accounts listed there.
Please keep in mind that the hardware wallet needs to remain connected to make any transactions (for confirmation purposes) so refrain from disconnecting the Hardware wallet while interacting with it on Enkrypt.
